What is new? I'm really liking school for one. The cosmetology program I'm taking is pretty challenging at times but I'm lovin' it, I like what we're learning and I feel like it's right up my alley. I like my classmates and teachers too! So that worked out nicely. I really love Portland, it's got a cool vibe and I like the people.  I have come to conclusion that I am a crazy person magnet (I've got stories up the wazoo, I tell ya what!) Honestly there is far too much to say...Well I've met some rather odd, creative, and fun people at school! It's nice to actually know people in Portland haha. I'm sorry I've been so terrible at livejournal. Honestly I'm not sure if I can keep up with it. I made a list of things I'd like to write about and the list itself is 3 pages long. Which is kind of crazy... Anyway, I don't really miss high school. I like that things are changing and a good pace. So far I'm really liking this new chapter of my life. Everything is new and different! It's refreshing. I think I might delete my journal... I'm just so bad at updating and keeping up-to-date with everything. I haven't decided, though... Maybe I'll start writing in it again? Ooh child I just don't know... I can't decide...

Well, a lot has been going on lately! I moved out of my crib for starters. I've been the resident of a Portland apartment for 1 week now... although the past four days I've been camping at Timothy lake with Megan and Tracy. I was only in Portland for about 3 days, but oh man, I love it already! I’m having fun decorating it and spicin’ the place up. It’s still a bit empty and sterile, but I dig it. I like people-watching from the balcony...is that creepy? Everything is new and adventurous. I still have so much to explore, and my neighbors are real nice-- Mary & Larry :D

Camping was a boat-load of fun too, although I was kinda sad to leave my apartment so soon. We got lost on the drive over there because we were originally gunna camp at Olalee lake but it was getting dark and the roads were really creepy not too mention the signs were written on paper plates (real sketchy) so we decided to turn back 11 miles and crash at Timothy Lake. We got so nervous at one point driving on those dark narrow roads that we just sang at the top of our lungs... We sang lots of happy songs like Lean On Me, I Believe I can Fly, Kung Fu Fighting, etc. I'm really glad we ended up at Timothy Lake though! Best mistake we ever coulda made ;) It was sunny, the lake was amazing and clear, The views were incredible-- you could see Mt. hood from almost anywhere. We did quite a few things... for starters we didn't shower for four days... it was sweet, we were all natural! ;) And we probably smelled like we were well past our expiration date. We went hiking, swam in a beautiful and clear lake, took a raft out on the lake and just let it float around while we soaked up some sun... (We ended up in some strange places-- haha) The one time we went out to buy tooth brushes and fill the car with gas we realized that we didn't have the key to the gas cap for Tracy's mom's van so this motorcycle man yanked it off with a wrench. For a second there we almost peed our pants because we only had a quarter tank of gas and NO access to the gas cap. We sat around the fire a lot in the evenings making smores and spittin’ sunflower seeds while speaking in southern accents (the entire time mind you) haha... I'm still having a hard time breakin' the accent!! Last year we spoke in a British accent for 3 days when we camped in Seattle, this year we spoke in a Hillbilly accent for four days at Timothy Lake! It was sweet... I think near the end our accents were pretty convincin’! :) Then on the way home we stopped in Hillsboro and watched Superbad, and now I'm home and more than ready to shower. I am real gross! I'm staying at my parents’ house tonight but I can't wait to get back to Portland tomorrow! I will have a lot do to though... Still need a coffee table, some art work for the walls, and I gotta go to a bridal shower for Dane’s sis. Hott damn. 

One more random piece of information: I went to a rather odd casting last week... Well the weirdest I’ve been to was for Surface Magazine where I had to scream and act scared because the “fashion monster” was going to punish me for my lack of fashion sense. (It was an editorial piece... I didn’t get that job haha) But I think this one might be equally strange. It was pretty much my first commercial casting for Oregon Lottery Powerball (Just a NW commercial) The casting was held at some run down warehouse in Portland (like most castings) and you were paired up with another model and you were asked to run around a room holding a huge inner tube while laughing and smiling. In the final commercial, the inner tube will be replaced by a giant hamburger; the models are carrying the hamburger down a football field towards a guy who has his mouth open ready to take a bite. The tagline for the commercial is: “What if?” So basically, if you win the lottery and you have a love for cheeseburgers, you could afford to do something that weird. I’ll find out next week whether I got the job or not. I’m guessing no because most of these are a shot in the dark, but I had a lot of fun with it anyway. We did three takes, and I had good chemistry with the model I was paired up with which helped.  I think they’re hiring more than one girl though, which is kinda nice for a change.

Man... Some of the people on America's Next Top Model are bat-shit crazy.

Just sayin'...

Haha anyway... It's been forever since I've made an actual update! Man I don't know what to say... (probably because it's 1:30AM)  I believe my updates tend to be on the booring side...  But now since Mr. Taylor says that no one ever updates and that he wants to know what's going on in our lives... I'm making a post! Haha.

For starters summer has been really good so far! Busy but good... I've had my share of lazy days too.

Ah shit I'm just gunna make a list:
-I have a new found love for banana pancakes 
-I switched agencies.... the one I'm with now is a lot betta and they're getting me more work. Plus they're nice! :)
-I move into my apartment september 1st and I start school october 9th
- I've dated dane for a little over a year now
- I've gone surfing 3 times... I have massive bruises to prove it
-I have met many strange people in Portland this summer... some really cool ones too! 
-I have zits... but it's ok.
-We blind-folded Angelina and took her to the Pink Martini concert at the zoo for her birthday surprise! It was grand...
-I'm not sure why I feel obligated to attend all Pink Martini concerts...
-I'm getting my ass to the gym more
-I miss seeing all my friends on a regular basis... 
-I visited my brother at OSU
-Went hiking at Manzanita with a fun group
-Have explored many French and Italian restaurants
-Drove around Portland blasting music and singing to the people...

And really that's all I can think of... Nothing much else has happened haha...

 ps: I think it'd be cool to cut hair on a cruise ship... did you know that cruise ships have salons? that way I could cut/style people's hair and still be able to travel! They give their staff members days off for sight seein' and such! Justa random thought... It could be cool...

I stood up on a surf board for the first time yesterday.... Woo! I mean I stood up 3 times... all the other times I either made it to my knees or I was flat out DUNKED! But that's ok... My board hit my head once or twice too but it's all good. It was all in good fun.... :P

Father: "Well Lia, you fell off the horse once... now you got to get back on!"
Me: "You're right... YOU'RE SO RIGHT! HERE I COME BITCH!

Sometimes you have to get angry to succeed... sometimes....
